Access:

Beach launch within DEC Lake Harris Campground suitable for small trailered boats. Off of Route 28N, 3 miles north of the Hamlet of Newcomb. A day use fee is charged during peak season. The launch is open year round and there is parking for 15 cars and trailers. Town of Newcomb maintains a boat launch on the south shore off Route 28N that will accommodate larger boats.

Fish Species:

Northern pike, smallmouth bass, walleye, brown bullhead, rock bass, pumpkinseed, and yellow perch.

Ice Fishing:

Ice fishing permitted.

Fisheries Management:

 

Lake Harris was experimentally stocked for 5 consecutive years with walleye from 2004 until 2008. The lake was surveyed in 2012 to document the presence of different age classes of walleye. Survey data indicated that walleye are naturally reproducing in the lake. Lake Harris also offers some quality panfishing and the occasional large northern pike and smallmouth bass.
